Gulf Power crews restore power in Panama City area following severe weather on April 10, 2021.

As of midnight Saturday, Gulf Power had essentially restored service to more than 57,000 customers affected by yesterday’s severe weather, which included hail and tornadoes across Northwest Florida. As of 10 a.m., approximately 100 customers remain without power, with almost all of those outages occurring after midnight last night. Gulf Power has crews and contractors working safely and as quickly as possible to restore power, including crews from Florida Power & Light Company and other outside resources that are supporting restoration efforts. Any customers who are still experiencing a power outage can report their outage and find their updated estimated restoration time at GulfPower.com or through the Gulf Power mobile app.

“With winds in some areas topping 70 miles per hour and tornadic activity, yesterday’s severe weather caused the level of damage and power outages that we might expect to see with a strong tropical storm,” said Mike Spoor, vice president of Gulf Power. “We have made great progress in restoring power to our customers, but we know that we may see additional outages today as we continue restoration work and parts of Northwest Florida see additional stormy weather. We thank our customers for their patience and support as we continue restoration efforts, and appreciate our FPL family and others that responded quickly and continue to help restore power to our customers.”
